US News ranks the best cardiology and heart surgery hospitals

There were no changes to the top five hospitals in the country for cardiology and heart surgery, according to US News and World Report latest rankings.

In the magazine’s 2022-2023 ranking, the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio is again the number 1 hospital for cardiology and cardiac surgery in the United States.

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., is again in second place, while Cedars-Sinai, Los Angeles, is in third place.

New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell in New York is number 4, and NYU Langone Hospitals, New York City continues to hold the number 5 spot.

These five rankings are the same as last year.

Mount Sinai Hospital in New York is number 6 and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston is number 7 (same as last year).

Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago takes eighth place this year from Stanford Health Care-Stanford Hospital in California, which falls to 9th in the latest ranking.

The Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston is in 10th place (same as last year).

The ranking highlights the hospitals’ delivery of “exceptional treatment across multiple areas of care”, the magazine says.

“For patients considering their options for seeking care, the Top Hospitals Rankings are designed to help them and their healthcare professionals identify hospitals that excel at the type of care they may need,” said Ben Harder, head of health analytics and editor at you S Newsaid in a press release.

Mayo Clinic tops overall

In the general classification 2022-2023, American News compared more than 4500 hospitals in 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions.

As reported by Medscape Medical Newsin the overall ranking of top hospitals, Mayo Clinic won the top spot on the honor roll for the seventh consecutive year, followed by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at number 2 and NYU Langone Hospitals at number 3.

The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio is in fourth place overall, while Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles are tied for fifth.

This year marks the 33rd edition of the magazine’s ranking of the best hospitals or hospitals as a whole and by key specialties.

According to a press release from American Newsthe ranking takes into account a variety of data provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the American Hospital Association, professional organizations and medical specialists.
