Owner of missing teddy bear given to children with congenital heart defects has been found, Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport says

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (WLS) – The owner of a teddy bear that was lost at the Milwaukee airport in January has been found!

Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport shared on Twitter, asking for help locating the owner who they believe traveled in or out of town on January 4.

As rumors swirled that airport officials were looking for the owner, some noticed that this particular bear was very special as it was given to children born with congenital heart defects.

“How special he must be. Let’s take him home,” the airport tweeted.

Then, after hundreds of shares, the airport announced on Wednesday that it had located the owner.

“We couldn’t have done this without each of you and all the media outlets who helped spread the word,” they said in a tweet.

While the stuffed animal waits for his family, officials said he was enjoying the airport. He even made some new friends, like Violet, the original stuffed animal left behind.

The airport plans to share more details about “Teddy” as they coordinate to reunite him with his family.
