Nurse accused of sexually assaulting heart surgery patients

A nurse who allegedly sexually assaulted a 25-year-old woman while recovering from heart surgery, a 67-year-old woman as she prepared for heart surgery and a 21-year-old nursing student saw each other banned from working as a nurse after being charged with a series of offences.

Ali Khamis Moh’d, 42, was caring for the 25-year-old, who cannot be named, as she recovered from heart surgery at Healthscope’s private Norwest Hospital in September 2021 when he allegedly had sex with her without her consent.

He was arrested last month and charged with sex without consent.

Investigators have since charged Mr. Moh’d with the alleged sexual assault of a 67-year-old woman awaiting heart surgery at the private Kingswood Hospital in Nepean, also owned by Healthscope, last month.

He was also charged for the alleged sexual touching of a 21-year-old nursing student in 2018.

“Following further inquiries, detectives arrested the 42-year-old man in Prestons on Friday,” NSW Police said in a statement.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with two counts of aggravation – sexually touching another person and aggravated – inciting another to sexually touch them and sexually touching another person without their consent.

In a statement, Healthscope said the incidents were investigated.

“The individual is no longer employed at Healthscope”.
