David Mitchell Recalls Robert Webb’s ‘Scary’ Moment of Heart Surgery While Filming

David Mitchell has spoken candidly about the “very scary” time when his comedic partner and friend Robert Webb had to undergo open heart surgery.

David joined Jermaine Jenas and Alex Scott on The One Show on Wednesday, where he opened up about his boyfriend’s stint on the BBC show and found out about Robert’s health issues after a routine medical check-up while filming.

The star continued, “It was something in the background that he wasn’t aware of and now he feels better than he’s been doing in years,

Alex then gently joked, “He does have his best friend as a number one cheerleader though.”

Robert reached week two of competition alongside partner Dianne Buswell, with a score of 20.
