At 13 months old, Jodie Adeola, who has been diagnosed with congenital heart disease, needs N4m to undergo heart surgery.
His father, Michael, in a letter to The punch, said her daughter was diagnosed with two large holes in the heart and with Down’s syndrome, which made it difficult to breathe.
The letter reads: “Jodie, my 13 month old daughter has been diagnosed with congenital heart disease (interatrial and ventricular communication) which means she has two large holes in her heart and Down’s syndrome which has delayed her developmental stages, making her breathe too hard and too fast, exposes her to different infections because she has had an eye infection, an ear infection and blood infections.
“Our cardiologist at Lagos University Hospital strongly recommends that we do the surgery in the United States of America, Israel or India before our next appointment on February 22, 2022.
“Heart defects, if not treated urgently, could cause serious damage to his heart, lungs and brain. At Apollo Children’s Hospital in Chennai, India, where we have to do the surgery and treatments, the cost is $ 10,000.
